Biography
A native of Valleyfield, Quebec, Sylvain grew up in Massachusetts, USA, until his return to his hometown at the age of 17. Surrounded by a close-knit family of Elvis fans, his affinity with Elvis began at an early age, making him a lifelong Elvis fan in his own right. Sylvain has been performing and paying tribute to the King of Rock and Roll since the age of 15.
Since his humble beginnings as a young teenager, he has honed his craft through his participation over the years in a wide variety of concerts, corporate events, contests, weddings, private parties, and fundraising events.
Now a seasoned performer for many years, he has accumulated numerous distinguished awards and accolades for his authentic tribute to Elvis.
In addition to his event performances, Sylvain became an Elvis Tribute Artist competitor in 2015, winning or placing in the top three positions in many contests, including in festivals sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE), the most prestigious of festivals where its crowned Grand Champions qualify for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Finals held annually at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee.
In 2019, he became the first and only Quebecer to ever receive the “Triple Crown” by taking the Grand Championship title at three consecutive EPE-sanctioned festivals: the Niagara Falls Elvis Festival (ON), the Lake George Elvis Festival (New York, USA), and the Collingwood Elvis Festival (ON).
Sylvain repeated the Triple Crown feat in 2022, when he captured three titles that year at the Empire State Tribute Festival (Verona, New York, USA), at the Penticton Elvis Festival (BC) and at Elvis Explosion (La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA).
Since he started competing, he has been crowned Grand Champion at EPE festivals a total of 12 times.
At Graceland, Sylvain was a top-10 finalist twice, ranking him among the best Elvis Tribute Artists in the world.
As a highlight in his performing arts career, in September 2024 he performed his Elvis Reimagined on Tour at the renowned Place des Arts concert hall in Montreal, Quebec, also raising funds for the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
A favourite among Elvis fans, Sylvain has also been presented with multiple People’s Choice Awards for his connection with the audience both on and off the stage.
His newest tribute, “Unchained Melody”, is an emotional journey honouring Elvis’s final tour in 1977.
When he is not performing, Sylvain makes time for physical workouts and long walks. He enjoys home cooking for family and friends, spending quality time, sharing great moments and making wonderful memories.
